Best of 2010 Award (Wedluxe Magazine)

As featured in their current Winter/Spring 2011 issue, we are honored to be recognized by Wedluxe Magazine as one of the Best of 2010 in Photography:

Featured in this issue is the wedding of Negar + Mitch… married at the Terminal City Club in Vancouver, BC:

The couples stationary was designed by Wintons Social Stationary:

Negar’s engagement ring (and both wedding bands), were custom made by Bradley Harks of Shein Investments:

Negar wore a beautiful two-piece Monique Lhuiller gown. Her custom designed tiara was created by the talented Elsa Corsi, and her flawless makeup and hair was done by Sonia Leal-Serafim with They Rep Agency:

Her bouquet by Granville Island Florists was filled with lavender roses, blue curiosa, small stephanotis with rhinestone crystal centers, lily of the valley, purple anemones and petals from large white cattleya orchids:

The ceremony was held in the Presidents Room at the Terminal City Club:

Negar’s mother and wedding planner Soha Lavin with Countdown Events worked together to organize and create a beautiful Persian Sofreh in which the bride and groom sat before to exchange vows:

Using rentals from both Upright Décor and Art of the Party and flowers from Granville Island Florists, Soha and her team at Countdown created a spectacular, unforgettable room at the Terminal City Club. Linens and chair covers were ordered from Wildflower Linens in California:

A small white box tied with purple ribbon was placed at every setting and contained delicious macarons from Ganache Patisserie:

The cake design featuring the couple’s monogram was created by Ganache Patisserie:

As featured in Wedluxe Magazine:

Also featured in this issue of Wedluxe is an editorial shoot I did with Soha Lavin called Jewel Tones:

... and a few more images from that shoot:

These gold flaked chocolate eggs (by Chocolate Arts) were served to Queen Elizabeth on her last visit to Canada:

Jewel Tones was produced by Soha Lavin, Countdown Events; Floral Design by Soha Lavin, Countdown Events; Stationary provided by Wintons Social Stationary; Glassware, Dishware and Containers provided by The Cross; Photographed on location at The Cross

Kyoko, the Superstar!

I’m in Scotland at the moment. I’m wearing every piece of clothing I brought with me and I’m still freezing. Unfortunately, there’s no fireplace at our current location or I’d be curled up in front of it.

We're heading north today and out of internet range, so I thought I’d do one more post before the holidays.

I've been working away at our new website (due out in the new year)!! My last few days have been spent gathering together Kyoko’s images for her section of the site and I can't stop thinking just how amazingly talented she is! Her work from this last year (and years before) is absolutely gorgeous!! I’m so proud of her and feel so honored to have her shooting for my company.  Even more, I feel lucky to have her as such a dear old friend. Our friendship and working relationship passed the 13 year mark this year!!! :)

This post is a little shout out to Kyoko in all her awesomeness. If you’ve booked her to shoot your wedding this coming 2011 year, you are a lucky one!

Also, make sure you pick up the current issue of Wedluxe Magazine (on stands now):

Kyoko’s work is featured on pg82-87 in a 6 page fashion spread she shot in Paris last summer.

Beautiful, right?

Adrien Brody

Earlier this year, I was invited onto the set of a motion film called WRECKED to photograph their movie poster and some on set stills. This awesome film stars one of my favorite actors Adrien Brody, and I’ll admit... it took me a few days on set before I could get past feeling so starry eyed every time I was around him. I’m a huge fan!
To see him work… to be witness to his process as an artist… well, let's just say i was honored to photograph him.

And on top of all that, my lovely beau James Liston was the Director of Photography. So, not only was I able to photograph an oscar winner, but I got to work next to my man and watch him shine as well. He makes me so proud:)

This opportunity was definitely a highlight this year.

Wrecked is screening on Dec 4th+5th at the Whistler Film Festival. Here is the trailer:

Vanessa in Wonderland

You may recognize Vanessa+Andrew from their beautiful Jamaican wedding last year. Well, here they are again... this time in an Alice in Wonderland themed maternity shoot.

Congrats you two on your beautiful new addition. I can't wait to meet the gorgeous Giselle.
