As featured in their current Winter/Spring 2011 issue, we are honored to be recognized by Wedluxe Magazine as one of the Best of 2010 in Photography:

Featured in this issue is the wedding of Negar + Mitch… married at the Terminal City Club in Vancouver, BC:

The couples stationary was designed by Wintons Social Stationary:

Negar’s engagement ring (and both wedding bands), were custom made by Bradley Harks of Shein Investments:

Negar wore a beautiful two-piece Monique Lhuiller gown. Her custom designed tiara was created by the talented Elsa Corsi, and her flawless makeup and hair was done by Sonia Leal-Serafim with They Rep Agency:

Her bouquet by Granville Island Florists was filled with lavender roses, blue curiosa, small stephanotis with rhinestone crystal centers, lily of the valley, purple anemones and petals from large white cattleya orchids:

The ceremony was held in the Presidents Room at the Terminal City Club:

Negar’s mother and wedding planner Soha Lavin with Countdown Events worked together to organize and create a beautiful Persian Sofreh in which the bride and groom sat before to exchange vows:

Using rentals from both Upright Décor and Art of the Party and flowers from Granville Island Florists, Soha and her team at Countdown created a spectacular, unforgettable room at the Terminal City Club. Linens and chair covers were ordered from Wildflower Linens in California:

A small white box tied with purple ribbon was placed at every setting and contained delicious macarons from Ganache Patisserie:

The cake design featuring the couple’s monogram was created by Ganache Patisserie:

Wedluxe Magazine Winter/Spring 2011 Issue on stands now:

Kyoko, the Superstar!

I’m in Scotland at the moment. I’m wearing every piece of clothing I brought with me and I’m still freezing. Unfortunately, there’s no fireplace at our current location or I’d be curled up in front of it.

We're heading north today and out of internet range, so I thought I’d do one more post before the holidays.

I've been working away at our new website (due out in the new year)!! My last few days have been spent gathering together Kyoko’s images for her section of the site and I can't stop thinking just how amazingly talented she is! Her work from this last year (and years before) is absolutely gorgeous!! I’m so proud of her and feel so honored to have her shooting for my company.  Even more, I feel lucky to have her as such a dear old friend. Our friendship and working relationship passed the 13 year mark this year!!! :)

This post is a little shout out to Kyoko in all her awesomeness. If you’ve booked her to shoot your wedding this coming 2011 year, you are a lucky one!

Also, make sure you pick up the current issue of Wedluxe Magazine (on stands now):

Kyoko’s work is featured on pg82-87 in a 6 page fashion spread she shot in Paris last summer.

Beautiful, right?

Behind the Scenes of a Wedluxe Editorial

Well, the magazine's been out now for months! But i wanted to post the fashion editorial we did for Wedluxe Magazine's Spring 09 issue. I just love photographing this stuff! I feel so in my element pulling these kinds of fashion shoots together. From casting the talent and pulling together a great team of talented people to handing over the final retouched images and finally seeing them in print.... I find the entire process so fulfilling!
Also, I get to work with my friends! A nice perk;)

Also on set that day, representing Wedluxe Magazine, was Angela Desveaux (Editor-in-Chief), Carolyn Clarke and Bruce Patterson of Cloud Nine Creative.

And let's not forget all the boys at The Canadian Museum of Flight. Thanks for your hospitality and letting us use your beautiful airplane!!

I thought it might also be fun to include a few of the images we gathered from Behind the Scenes!

Here are Sam and June prepping the gorgeous Crystal:

We do many, many, many camera and lighting tests throughout the day...to make sure we get it right:

And Rachelle, making sure to capture a few self portraits...cute:

That's me, showing Crystal how it's done..ha ha!

Angela and Carolyn taking a break while Bruce finds an interesting angle:

Mark and James gathering props from the museum:

Sam gets down to work again with yet another makeup and wardrobe change. Her and June worked fast that day, producing 7 incredible looks for us before the sun went down:

Sometimes it just looks better from down there:)...and June making some final adjustments:

The boys from the Canadian Museum of Flight along with security from Birks...guarding all the beautiful (and expensive) jewlery:

Mark helps block some flare while Rachelle gives a thumbs up:)

We needed all hands on deck to move the plane around as the light changed.... Angela is supervising;)

James is pretending to check the light...but really I think he's just trying to have his photo taken with our supermodel;) ...who btw, in high heals stands almost eye level with him... and James is 6'6"!

Bravo Barcelona

Before the fall 08 issue of Real Weddings is released, I thought it might be a good idea to post some images from a fashion shoot I did a few months back. Some of the images from this shoot were published in the spring 08 issue of Real Weddings. The shoot took place in April while I was visiting Barcelona. We shot in two locations; in the streets around our apartment in the Bari Gotic Disrtrict and in the beautiful Parc del Laberint, also known as the Lover’s Garden. This park is located in the north part of Barcelona in an area called Horta. The labyrinth garden is one of the oldest gardens in Barcelona, dating from the early 1700’s. The central piece of the iconography of the park is a labyrinth of cypress trees containing a statue of Eros in the center which represents playful and carefree love. The perfect setting for a bridal shoot, don't you think?

And here are the images as they appear in the Spring08 issue of Real Weddings magazine....
If you haven't already seen the current issue, you better pick up one soon! It's likely to only remain on stands for another month or two!

I'm so proud of this new(ish) westcoast wedding magaine. It's been a treat watching it grow and develop over its' last three issues into one of the best looking wedding magazines available. I was very fortunate to have photographed the cover and fashion editorial for their 2nd spring 07 issue. Kyoko (the other shooter working here), also did a fabulous job photographing the shoe editorial in that issue.

This new issue features the wedding of Lili +Ramin...

And just a few more of my favorites that didn't make it into the magazine....The beautiful Lily, her face reflecting in the glass covered coffee table in her hotel room:

And her three best friends...seeing her in her gown for the very first time:

And of course....then there's the incredibly happy and super hot couple:

During the reception, I always love capturing the reactions people have to the speeches. It's definitely one of my most favorite times during a wedding day. This is Ramin's father listening to his son speak of his appreciation for his parents. A very proud papa:

Lily and Ramin reside in NYC but had help from their families and especially wedding co-ordinator Sarah Shore of Dreamgroup to plan and organize their August 24th event at Vancouver's Brock House Restaurant.
Their cake was created by Thomas Haas.
Lily's gown was designed by Vera Wang

A Wedluxe Editorial, My First Cover....and My First Journal Entry!

Several months back, I was invited by Wedluxe Magazine to photograph the gown editorial and cover for their Spring 2007 issue. After working with Angela (publisher/editor) and Bruce (Ange’s husband and owner/operator of Cloud Nine Creative) many times over the last few years on countless weddings, it was an honor and pleasure to be able to work with them on a project like this one. I had such a blast with this shoot. I am very proud of it and so excited to be finally starting my blog with the images produced from this shoot.

Also...the talented Bruce Patterson of Cloud Nine Creative was there to capture all of the behind-the-scenes action on video! Please enjoy!
